Minecraft Party

Minecraft has been around since 2009 and it's not going anywhere! Kids love being the creators of their own worlds. When my son asked to have a Minecraft themed party for his 8th birthday, I was SO excited because I knew the possibilities were endless. I put myself in "creative mode" and ran with it.
Minecraft Invites
I found a template on Etsy that I made some of my own changes to. Funny how Minecraft made "creeping" cool..

Minecraft Decorations
I wanted to make a fun entrance to the party so I used some foil curtains to make a Nether Portal. Once you went through the portal, there was a fun photo backdrop. I used a boxwood backdrop and an organic style balloon garland. Just wait until you see the photos.. Want to book this look? Request balloon decor here!
Minecraft Food
Okay, I may have gone a little overboard with the food.. but there were so many fun options! I got a free printable for the food signs here.
Minecraft Activity
This was my FAVORITE part of the party! I found some 12"x12" boxes that were perfect for making Minecraft skins. I drew a grid on each box and cut the eye holes out. I cut lots (and lots) of squares out of cardstock using my Cricut. I printed out some examples of characters and mobs from the game for reference and let them do their thing! Some kids used the references, some made themselves, and some just got creative. The photo ops were amazing. I of course decided to balloon twist some classic Minecraft weapons for props because balloons are ALWAYS a hit. Want me to twist for your party?? Request to book balloon twisting here!
I had some extra boxes so I decided to make a crafting table game! I made a crafting table and made some crafting recipe cards. I laid out a pile of items and each person took a turn flipping one over to see if it matched their recipe. The first one to craft their item won a prize!

Minecraft Goodie Bags
I got some red paper bags from Dollar Tree and added some strips to mimick a TNT block. The kids loved them!

Safe to say, the party was a hit! The kids loved making their own skins and the parents were all impressed with their creativity.
